Woodmen Elders & Deacons

Those who have served well gain an excellent standing and great assurance in their faith in Christ Jesus."
(1 Timothy 3:13)

Woodmen is governed by an Elder Board. Josh Lindstrom, our Lead Pastor of Teaching and Vision, serves as an elder and is accountable to our elder board. Woodmen Valley Chapel is both a civil corporation and community of faith, which subscribes to the eternal truths outlined in our Statement of Faith.

The Statement of Faith does not exhaust the extent of our beliefs. The Bible itself, as the inspired and infallible Word of God that speaks with final authority concerning truth, morality, and the proper conduct of mankind, is the sole and final source of all that we believe. For the purposes of Woodmen Valley Chapel’s faith, doctrine, practice, policy, and discipline, our Elder Council is the final interpretive authority on the Bible’s meaning and application.

At Woodmen, Deacons are men and women who are selected by their Campus Pastor to serve in a variety of key leadership roles at their local campus. Deacons’ primary duties at Woodmen are focused on caring for their campus community. To be a Deacon, one must affirm and be willing to abide by Woodmen’s principles of doctrine, practice and governance.

Elder Candidates

Matt Pirmann

We're excited to introduce Matt Pirmann as a candidate for Woodmen’s Elder Council. Matt and his wife, Sara, have been married since 2008. They’ve been involved at Woodmen since the first weekend they arrived in Colorado Springs in 2017.

Matt has been active leading and serving as part of Awana, Community Groups, men’s ministry, ACTS and Discipleship Institute. Matt and Sara have three daughters who attend Evangel Christian Academy, where Matt sits on the board.

Following time in the Army, various defense contractor roles and working at Compassion International, Matt purchased a local small business that he now runs full-time. In his free time, he enjoys studying the Bible, theology and church history as well as hunting and fly fishing.

As part of our Elder selection process, over the next three months we invite you to contact Matt directly if you have a concern about any area in his life which does not align with the Biblical standards for elders outlined in Titus, chapter 1 and First Timothy, chapter 3. If, after giving him an opportunity to respond, you feel that there is a concern that remains unresolved, please reach out here.
